Te Tūranga - The Role

Permanent position (weekdays & hours negotiable) 

Our retirement home seeks a Clinical Lead Registered Nurse to join our team. We need a candidate who is highly motivated and dedicated and has excellent leadership and management skills. Our top priority is to provide the best care to our residents while ensuring their safety and comfort and adhering to the HPCA Act.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide guidance and proactive leadership to staff in line with the HPCA Act.
• Ensure the success of the Quality and Risk Management Programme at Wyndham & Districts Community Rest Home.
• Monitor and maintain the highest care standards for residents.
• Coordinate clinical supplies and participate in the education program.
• Maintain personal and professional development.
• Ensure residents are treated with respect and cultural sensitivity.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies at all times.

REQUIREMENTS:

• New Zealand Nursing Registration and Practicing Certificate required.
• Management experience is preferred, but we are open to candidates with potential.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are required.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A compassionate, empathetic, and positive outlook is required.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are needed.
• InterRAI / Medi-Map (or One) training is a must.
• Understanding of Nga Paerewa sector standards and Treaty of Waitangi standards is required.
• Commitment to maintaining the Quality Improvement Program is expected.

Te Tūranga - The Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a rest-home as a part-time Wyndham Rest Home Activity Coordinator. Our ideal candidate will possess a passion for enhancing the lives of our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.

Some of the remarkable things you will be doing but not limited to:

Plan and coordinate daily activities and events for residents (group and individual)

Develop and implement programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing

Organising transport and trips out in the local community 

Work closely with other staff members to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for residents

Build relationships with residents and their families to understand their interests and needs better

Demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to Wyndham & Districts Community Rest Home Health & Safety policies at all times 

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• Preferably, you have an NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate and/or previous experience preferred with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar health care setting or have a strong interest in getting them, and work towards them once you start the job.
• Experience preferred but not necessary in event planning, recreation, or similar related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to Health & Safety policies at all times

Our rest home is currently looking for a Senior Caregiver, and Caregiver to join our team permanently (part-time or casually). We are searching for ideal candidates who are highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated to improving the lives of our residents. The start date will be as soon as we find suitable candidates.
